As I look back on the past year, I'm struck by how much my style has evolved. I've always been someone who loves to experiment with fashion, trying out new trends and pushing the boundaries of my personal style. However, I've also learned that it's just as important to edit and refine my wardrobe, rather than simply accumulating more clothes.
One of the biggest mistakes I made in 2024 was buying a lot of midi skirts at once. I thought they were going to be my thing, but in reality, I only ended up wearing them a handful of times. It was a costly mistake, but one that taught me the importance of being more discerning in my purchases. I've since learned to take a step back and ask myself whether I truly need something, rather than simply wanting it.
On the other hand, one of my best investments was the Burberry trench coat I bought from Beyond Retro. I've worn it countless times, and it's become a staple in my wardrobe. I've also learned to appreciate the value of quality over quantity, and I've started to focus on buying fewer, better pieces that will stand the test of time.
As I reflect on my style, I've noticed that I've become slightly more minimal over the past year. I've learned to edit my wardrobe, getting rid of pieces that no longer fit or suit my style. I've also become more experimental with my outfits, trying out new combinations of clothes and accessories. My friends, Rachel, Mike, and Emily, have been a great source of support and inspiration, always encouraging me to try new things and push the boundaries of my style.
One of the things that's remained constant, however, is my love of thrifting. I still get a thrill from browsing through charity shops and thrift stores, searching for unique and one-of-a-kind pieces. And while I've learned to be more discerning in my purchases, I still believe that fashion should be fun and experimental.
